Ishpeming – Dominic "Skip" Rocco Tasson, age 72, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at UP Health System Bell where he had been a patient for the past day.

Dominic was born December 12, 1942 in Ishpeming, MI the son of the late Salvatore and Gertrude (Dyka) Tasson. Skip worked with the Michigan Army National Guard for 28 years, 10 years of which were spent at Camp Grayling in Grayling, MI. Following his retirement from the National Guard he drove bus for several years for the Ishpeming School District.

Skip was a devout Catholic and was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus along with the Ishpeming Fire Department. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Skip loved children, and enjoyed attending local sporting events, and was a proud supporter of the Ishpeming Hematites.

Dominic is survived by a son Salvatore Tasson of Atlanta, GA, 2 sisters - Patricia Tasson and Barbara Tasson both of Ishpeming, and one grandson Brent Tasson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming with Fr. Larry Van Damme officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home where a Parish Rosary Service will begin at 6:45 pm, and again at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church from 9:00 am until the time of the Mass at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the services in the K / D Hall. Pallbearers will be members of the Ishpeming Knights of Columbus.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Memorial Fund in Skip's memory.
