Obituary
Humboldt Twp- Dixie D. Rautio, age 72 of 19935 US Hwy 41 W. Champion (Humboldt Twp), passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility where she been a resident since 2009.
Dixie was born August 7, 1939 in Negaunee to Waino & Aunie (Koski) Kangas. She attended school in Republic and graduated from Ishpeming High School. She worked as a nurse's aide at Acocks Medical Care Facility. She later moved to Waukegan, IL where she was a Brownies Scout Leader and served on her children's school PTO. Dixie enjoyed taking care of her family, painting, sewing, fishing or just spending time in the woods.
Dixie is survived by her husband Donald Rautio, 4 children: Lori (David) Buchanan Anderson of Fox Lake, IL, Edward Duhame of Beach Park, IL, Patricia Winter of Nevada and Jeff Rautio of Lake Geneva, WI, a sister Marion Helimsto of Quinnesec, MI, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren , nieces and nephews. Dixie was preceded in death by her daughter Stacy Rautio, sisters Bonnie Treloar and Margaret Kangas a grandson Matthew Duhame.
A private inurnment service will be held at a later date in the Negaunee Cemetery.
