Ishpeming- Diane J. Reidy, age 60, longtime Ishpeming area resident, passed away on Tuesday September 10, 2019 at The Lighthouse at Ishpeming Health and Rehabilitation center while in the loving care of her husband and nursing home staff.

Diane was born on February 25, 1959 in L'Anse, MI, daughter of the late James W. and Elaine E. (Hakola) Chartier. Diane graduated from Baraga High School class of 1977 before going on to study at NMU briefly before starting her working career. She married Thomas Reidy on August 15, 1997, they were married for 22 years.

Diane enjoyed going to the casino, going for short trips, and spending time with friends and family. Despite suffering from illness her entire life, Diane was one of the happiest people around.

Diane is survived by her husband of 22 years- Thomas M. Reidy, 2 sisters- Joyce (Paul) Karvakko, Carol Schippers, 4 brothers- David Chartier, John (Rose) Chartier, Dennis Chartier, Michael (Yuko) Chartier, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister- Betty Chartier, and brother-in-law- Tom Schippers.

Following Diane's wishes cremation will take place with no public services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Diabetes Research, Cancer Research, or to UPAWS in memory of Diane.
