Marquette, MI- Derek John Lentz, age 40, Marquette resident passed away Monday, October 18, 2021, at UP Health System Marquette.

Derek was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on June 12, 1981, to Cheryl (Morris) and Roger Lentz.

Derek was a food preparer at the Casa Calabria restaurant for the past 3 years.  Derek enjoyed hanging out with his friends and nephew.

Derek is survived by his mother Cheryl Lentz-Weber of Marquette, his father Roger Lentz of Conover, NC, a nephew Jesse Pawlusiak, three nieces: Jenna, Cori, and Bailey Morrison, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Derek was preceded in death by three sisters: Corie, Jamie and Nikki Lentz.

Derek's family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Friday, October 22, 2021, at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming where his funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm with Paul Peterson officiating.

Burial will take place at the Lakeview Cemetery in Michigamme.

A luncheon will follow at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Champion.
