Republic – Dennis D. Valenti, age 68 of Republic, MI passed away with his family by his side after a brave struggle with pancreatic cancer on December 7, 2017 in Suamico, WI.

Dennis was born in Negaunee, MI on June 7, 1949 to Marian (Anderson) Basal and the late Nicholas Valenti. He was employed in his early years by Nicks Standard, the Arola Bottling Works for 6 years prior to his 22 year career with the Marquette County Road Commission.

Dennis was a member of the Republic United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, going to the casino, and especially spending time with his family.

Dennis is survived by his wife- Connie (Arola) Valenti, his mother- Marian Basal, 2 children- Necole (Brian) Cherovsky, Cory (Audrey) Valenti, 2 sisters- Linda Bauer, Elizabeth (Jim) Krieg, 3 aunts- Genevive Valenti, Connie Johnson, Nancy Asikainen, uncle- Victor (Charlotte) Valenti, sister-in-law- Wanda (David) Holsworth, 5 grandchildren- Morgan, Preston, Beau, Mila, Cade, life long friend- John Eman, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, brother- Rick Valenti, father-in-law- Melvin Arola, mother-in-law-Alice Arola, and sister-in-law- Toni Carey.

Dennis' family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday December 13, 2017 at the Republic United Methodist Church from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM with Rev. Peter Lemoine to officiate.

A luncheon will follow the services in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Republic United Methodist Church.
