Ishpeming- Dennis R. Korpi, age 64 of 119 Terrace St. Ishpeming passed away Wednesday November 11, 2015 at his home while in the loving care of his family and UP Home Health & Hospice.

Dennis was born April 9, 1951 in Ishpeming to Nestor & Martha (Santaholma) Korpi. He graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1969. Dennis worked for CCI for 33 years. He worked 6 ½ years at the Mather B Mine and spent 26 ½ years working as a plant repairman, some of those years on the roving crew, he retired in 2002 from the Empire Mine where he worked for 16 years.

Dennis was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church and the Riverside Club. Dennis played in the Ishpeming Cribbage League and Ishpeming Horseshoe League. He was an avid baseball fan, coaching Ishpeming Little League and girls softball for 19 years. Dennis enjoyed the outdoors: fishing, hunting and camping with family and friends, he especially enjoyed time spent with his children.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Cecelia "Cece" (Bunce) Korpi, 4 children: Dennis D. Korpi, Duane R. Korpi, Craig Korpi and Kristi Korpi all of Ishpeming, 2 grandchildren: Dylan Korpi and Brayden Martin, 3 sisters: Edith Sandberg of Ishpeming, Jeanette Dunstan of Ishpeming and Donna Korb of Wisconsin, 2 brothers: Irving Korpi and Ronald (Naomi) Korpi both of Ishpeming along with several nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and brother John and a sister Ethel Aho.

Funeral services for Dennis will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday November 14, 2015 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating. Visitation will be held at the Bethel Lutheran Church on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service at 12:00 noon.

A luncheon will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service.
