Ishpeming- Deborah A. Bess, age 70, longtime Ishpeming resident, passed away on Sunday August 25, 2019 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility while in the loving care of her daughter and nursing home staff.

Deborah was born on December 26, 1948 in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late Edward and Florence (Hagle) Sutter. She moved to the UP in her early years, where she bartended and met her husband Gardner Bess.

Deborah was a former member of the Paradise Bar Pool Team. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching the Chicago Cubs, going for walks, spending time at deer camp, playing cribbage and horseshoes, as well as going for road trips in her younger years.

Deborah is survived by 3 daughters- Dawn (Vincent) Sutter-Davidson, Mary (Michael) Pratt, Nicole Bess, 2 step children- Alan Bess, Gardner (Carrie) Bess, 15 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Gardner Bess, 2 sisters- Sandy and Sharon Sutter. 2 step-children- Linda Kane and Jeffrey Bess, father-in-law- Gardner Bess, mother-in-law- Violet (Smith) Bess, brother-in-law- David Bess, sister-in-law- Patti Bess.

Following Deborah's wishes no public services will take place.
