Stephenson, MI- Dean Curtis Johnson, age 60 longtime Stephenson area resident, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette where he been a resident for the past 2 years.
Dean was born April 27, 1950 in Kane, Pa to the late Rudolph & Dorothy (Larson) Johnson. He graduated from Stephenson High School, class of 1968. Dean served his country in the United States Army from 1969 to 1972 including a tour in Vietnam and later served in the National Guard.
Dean worked various jobs in the Menominee area and mostly as a truck driver for Twin City Trucking and Iron City Enterprises. Dean enjoyed being with friends, hunting and fishing. He also had a love for his dog "Lucky".
Dean is survived by his son Jesse Johnson of Menominee, a granddaughter Caitlyn Marie Johnson, a sister Carol (Ronald) Bergman of Ishpeming, a brother Ronald Johnson of Tonopah, AZ, an aunt Ruth Larson of Stephenson, his ex-wife Susan (Ledger) Johnson of Menominee, along with nieces, nephews and cousins. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Rev Rudolph & Dorothy Johnson and an infant brother Leon Johnson of Helena, MT.
A private family service will be held at a later date in Stephenson.
