Obituary

Three Lakes- David Lentz Sr, age 89 of Three Lakes (Spurr Twp.) passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at the Baraga County Memorial Hospital where he been a patient for the past 3 ½ months.

David was born December 21, 1917 in Pound, WI to John and Amelia (Frivalt) Lentz. David lived in Iron River for many years prior moving to Michigamme in 1946 and later moving to Three Lakes in 1966 where he has lived ever since.

David worked first of all as an underground Miner at the Buck Mine in Iron River and the Mather A. Mine for Cleveland Cliffs. He then worked for 18 years for Kimberly Clark in Champion and most recently was a self employed logger for Lentz Logging Company. He also worked for Luke Bros. and Hamel Construction Company.

David was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Champion, was a volunteer for the Spurr Twp Fire Department for 36 years and was past treasurer of Spurr Twp. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and spending time on the water boating.

David is survived by 2 children David J. Lentz of Spurr Twp, and Duane J. (Shelia) Lentz of Felicity, OH, a sister Helen Kostreva of Pound, WI, 10 grandchildren: Debra Zimmer, Anita Poehls, Daisy (Donald) Webb, Allan Lentz, Greg (Lisa) Taisto, Susan (Jim) Treau, John Lentz, Dan (Anna) Galske, Charlie Lentz and Sydney Lentz, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elaine (Whitcomb) Lentz, a daughter Beverly Galske, a sister June Oksheski and brothers Henry and Ray Lentz.

Funeral services will be held 1:00p.m. Monday, May 14, 2007 at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming with Carole Neitzel, LLM to officiate. Burial will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.

Friends may call the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home on Monday from 11:00a.m. until the time of service at 1:00p.m.
