Ishpeming- David M. "Big Dog" Grigg Sr., age 64 of 152 Grigg Drive Ishpeming passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016 at his home while in the loving care of his family and UP Home Health & Hospice.

David was born June 21, 1952 in Marquette to the late Roy and Marion (DeVold) Grigg. He graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1970 and attended the Jacobetti Skill Center where he received a welding certificate. He worked for Cleveland Cliffs for 30 years as a welder, retiring in 1999.

Dave was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church where he served on the church council, and also a member of the VASA Lodge. Ishpeming ELKS Lodge, the Dead River Campers Association where he was a past president and am active NRA member. He cherished each day living on the Dead River Basin where he enjoyed hosting many gatherings including the annual stew and chicken feeds. At any gathering Dave made sure everyone was welcome and always make sure there was food for everyone. He was a wonderful host and he will be missed at the Wednesday night cocktail parties. Dave loved the North woods and he will be remember with all the North stars that past before him.

David is survived by his wife Trisha (Collins) Grigg, his high school sweet heart whom he married on November 29, 1969, 3 children: David (Cory Beth) Grigg Jr., Hart Grigg and Erin (Jamie) Faull, 7 grandchildren: Phoebe Grigg, Ione Grigg, Chelsey (Jeff) Poirier, Jordann Grigg, Kori (Craig Wheeler) Faull, Abigail & Andrea Faull, a great grandson Wyatt Wheeler and a great grandchild expecting. He is also survived by a sister Diane (Bill) Garrett, Larry (Roseanne Turino) Grigg, Glen (Kris Anderson) Grigg, best friend and uncle Bob Lahde, family friend Diane Anderson, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy & Marion Grigg, and brothers Howard & Roy Grigg

Funeral services for David will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 17, 2016 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ishpeming with Rev. Kenneth Lahners officiating.

David's family will greet relatives and friends on Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church from 10:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.

Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.

A pot luck luncheon will be held following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Pallbearers will be Rueben Asgaard, Fred Cox, "Big Tony" Bertucci, Bob Lahde, Roger Comment and Sterling Schultz Sr.
