Ishpeming – David R. Butler, age 61 of 724 Bank St., Ishpeming passed away on Saturday November 24, 2007, at the Emergency Room in Bell Hospital, Ishpeming.
David was born December 23, 1046 in Ishpeming, the son of the late George and Virginia (Olien) Butler. He was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1964. He served in the United States Army from 1966-1968, doing a tour of duty in Vietnam. Following his service time, David had worked has a rancher for several years in Chichasha, OK prior to moving back to Ishpeming nearly 20 years ago. David was a member of the V.F.W. David enjoyed gardening and doing art work in his younger years.
Survivors include 6 brothers – Jay (Sharon) Butler of Florida, Richard Butler of Ishpeming, Jim (Lonny) Butler of Ishpeming, Ray (Ilene) Butler of Ishpeming, Peter (Irene) Butler of Kenai, AK, and Curt Hendrickson of Edina, MN; 2 sisters – Julie (Ron) Zak of Edina, MN and Lori (John) Ruesing of Ishpeming; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father Raymond M. Hendrickson, and a brother Norman Hendrickson.
A private graveside inurnment service will be held at the Ishpeming Cemetery at a later date.
