Ishpeming- Darlene G. Chapman, age 86 of 204 Ready St. Ishpeming passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility while in the loving care of her family, staff at MCMFC and U.P. Home Health and Hospice.

Darlene was born in Ishpeming on August 24, 1931 to Wilfred and Betty (LaJoie) Ayotte. She worked as a seamstress at the H.W. Gossard Company where she worked for 30 years. Darlene was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She was an excellent knitter, enjoyed crocheting, reading, and watching old Western / Classic movies. Darlene was a dog lover. Some of the dogs she rescued were: Sandy, Sammie, Charlie and Daisy.

Darlene is survived by 3 sisters: Marilyn Mager of Ishpeming, Judith (Dan) Racine of Marquette, and Susan (Rodney) Scott of Ishpeming, nieces and nephews: Michele (Dale) Musser, Terry Scott, John Scott, Dale (Jocelyn) Scott, Helen (Rick), Cheryl Scott, Lloyd (Diane) Mager, Rusty (Janet) Mager, Robin (Steven) Liquia, Donna Larson, David Treloar, and Michael (Jamie) Treloar, brother in laws: Neil Chapman, Bruce Chapman, Michael (Linda) Chapman, Ray (Peggy) Chapman, along with friends Ann and Jay Wilder and the wonderful staff at MCMCF. Darlene was preceded in death by her husband Allan "Kalevi" Chapman and brothers: Wilfred and Peter Ayotte.

Darlene's family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00-11:00 am on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating.

A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall.

Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jason Chapman, Dan Chapman and Jay Wilder.
