Ishpeming – Danny E. Nelson, age 47 of 425 N. Seventh St., Ishpeming passed away on Friday November 23, 2007 at the Bell Hospital in Ishpeming where he had been a patient for the past four days. Danny had been in ill health for several years.


Danny was born December 20, 1959 in Ishpeming the son of Everett and Beverly (Palmer) Nelson. He was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1977 and then attended Bay de Noc community college where he received an associate degree in Business Management. Following his education he had moved to Green Bay, WI, Duluth, MN and Mackinac Island prior to moving back to Ishpeming. While in Ishpeming he had managed Aunty's Café for a few years. Danny loved the outdoors, especially enjoying hunting season.


Survivors include his wife Sheila (Maki) Nelson, whom he married on Oct. 17, 1998 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming; a step-daughter Jessica Junak of Ishpeming; a sister Deborah (Curt) Clement of West Bend, WI; along with 5 nieces – Angela, Jennifer, Mariah, Jadyn and Ava Andriacchi. He was preceded in death by his grandparents – Floyd and Dorothy Palmer and Clifford and Lempi Nelson; along with a nephew Jakob Nelson Andriacchi.


Friends may call at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home from 3:00 until 4:00pm on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 where a memorial service will be held at 4:00pm with the Rev. Scott Lindenberg to officiate.
