Ishpeming Twp. – Daniel L. Roberts, age 46, of 135 Seilo Ave., Ishpeming Twp. passed away on Monday January 24, 2011 at his home as a result of smoke inhalation sustained in a house fire.


Daniel was born May 17, 1964 in Marquette, MI the son of Stanley and Lois (Roeder) Roberts. He was a graduate of the Westwood High School, Class of 1982. He went on to attend Michigan Tech University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1990. Dan worked for several years at Symons True Value in Ishpeming, and more recently at the Tilden Mine for Cliffs Michigan Mining. He was a lifelong area resident and loved the time he spent at camp on the north side of the Dead River Basin.


Survivors include two sisters – Ann (Richard) Brown of Ishpeming and Stacee (Thomas) Hamm of Wixom, 2 nieces – Elizabeth and Heather Brown. He was preceded in death by his father Stanley Roberts and his mother Lois Roberts whom perished with him on Monday.


The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00am – 12:00 noon on Friday January 28, 2011 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in conjunction with his mothers on Friday January 28, 2011 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Lahners to officiate. A luncheon will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Church.
