Ishpeming – Daniel P. Kangas, age 56, of 605 Lakeshore Dr., Apt 2, Ishpeming passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Marquette Co Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming where he had been a resident for the past day.

Daniel was born April 10, 1960 in Ishpeming the son of the late Arne and Ella (St.Andre) Kangas.  Daniel attended the Ishpeming Schools and later served in the United States Navy.  Following his service time Daniel became a carpenter and worked in the Rockford, IL area prior to returning to Ishpeming where he has resided for the past 20 years.

Daniel was a man of many talents.  He loved nature and enjoyed walking with his canine friend "Boo".  Daniel attended the Old Fashion Baptist Church in Ishpeming.

Survivors include brothers and sisters – John (Janice) Kangas of Lansing, Elizabeth (Charles) Waters of Ishpeming, Susan Ellis, Kathy Cumpston and David Argall all of Gwinn, Helen Schmeltz of Ishpeming, Linda (John) Baggiore of Caledonia, IL and Sherry (Greg) Fredin of Ishpeming, a special friend Phil Barbiere of Ishpeming, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother Robert Kangas and two sisters – Sandra Moffat and Beverly Tilly.

Cremation will take place and the family will hold private services.  Interment will take place at the Negaunee Cemetery.
