Ely Twp, MI- Dale Edward McCarthy, 71, Ely Twp. resident, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at his residence.

Dale was born in Marquette, Michigan on November 30, 1947, a son of the late Marjorie (Brindel) and Thomas McCarthy.

Dale served in the U.S. Army as a PVT during the Vietnam War.  He worked for the City of Fayetteville, NC in maintenance for the Department of Public Works for many years.  Dale enjoyed time on his riding lawn mower and tractor cutting grass.

Dale is survived by three brothers, Duane McCarthy, of Bruce Crossing, Alton (Joanne) McCarthy, of Negaunee; and Larry (Sue) McCarthy of Gwinn along with nieces and nephews.  Dale was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Gloria Mager, Donna Tonge and Audrey McCaig.

Honoring Dale wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no public service.
