Obituary
ISHPEMING - Dale Joseph Delongchamp, age 52 of 219 Angeline St. Ishpeming, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at the Lake Superior Hospice Unit located at Marquette General Hospital. Dale was born June 18, 1955 to James J. and Agnes T. (Carriere) Delongchamp.
Dale graduated from Ishpeming High School in 1973 and served in the United States Navy until he was Honorably Discharged in November of 1980. He attended Michigan Technological University and obtained a degree in Electrical Technology. Later, Dale attended Northern Michigan University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Computer Technology.
Dale was a life long area resident and a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing the guitar, coin collecting and going to camp. Dale was a member of the Negaunee Elk's Club and both the Ishpeming and Negaunee Cribbage Leagues. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veteran's.
Survivors include, Dales parents: James and Agnes Delongchamp of Ishpeming, paternal grandmother: Gertrude Delongchamp of Ishpeming, a sister: Debra (Terry) Russell of Belle Vernon, PA, a brother: Keith (Evelyn) Delongchamp of Sheboygan, WI, nephews: Brad and Lance Russell of Belle Vernon, PA, and Ethan Delongchamp of Sheboygan, WI, a niece: Corrina Delongchamp of Sheboygan, WI, 2 great nephews: Mathew Russell of Belle Vernon, PA, and Cameron Russell of Perryopolis, PA, and a great niece: Mikayla Russell of Belle Vernon, PA.
Dale was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Max Delongchamp, and maternal grandparents Fred and Louise Carriere.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00a.m. on Friday, October 26, 2007 at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming with the Rev. Fr. Greg Heikkala to officiate. Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.
The family will greet friends and relatives from 4:00 until 8:00p.m. on Thursday at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home where a parish prayer service will be held at 7:30p.m. The family will also greet friends and relatives from 10:00a.m. until the time of services on Friday at the St. John's Church.
Pallbearers will be Tom Russell, Evan Russell, Lance Russell, David Carriere, Paul O'Brien, and Kurt Delongchamp.
