Palmer – Cory J. DeRocha, age 33 of Palmer, MI passed away on Thursday January 4, 2018 as a result of injuries sustained in an Auto – Pedestrian accident on M-95 in Humboldt Twp.

Cory was born January 7, 1984 and grew up in Ishpeming. He attended the Ishpeming Schools, graduated from the NorthStar Academy in Marquette and the ITT Technical Institute in Green Bay. He had worked as a delivery driver for OK Industrial. His son Carson always came first in his life. Cory was also and avid sports fan, especially of the Detroit Lions. He enjoyed gaming and had an extensive baseball card collection.

Cory is survived by his parents Theresa and Steven Josephson of Palmer, son Carson DeRocha and Caron's mother Amy Nurmala of Ishpeming, brother Justin (Erica) Josephson of Ishpeming, foster sister Angela Olin of Ishpeming, grandparents – Jean Harmala of Ishpeming and Ray and Barb Josephson of Kensington, MN, niece Heidi Josephson, nephew Hunter Josephson, along with numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Donald Harmala and aunt Lola Ayotte and an uncle Daniel DeRocha.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 1- 3pm on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 3:00PM on Tuesday at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with the Rev. Lauri O. Maki to officiate. A luncheon will follow at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming.
