Ishpeming – Corrine J. Windahl, age 85, of 217 N. Fifth St., Ishpeming, MI passed away on Monday June 12, 2017 at UP Health System Bell where she had been a patient for since this past Tuesday.

Corrine was born August 1, 1931 in Ishpeming the daughter of the late Harry and Olga (Oie) Dougherty.  She grew up in Ishpeming and was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1949.  Corrine worked for many years as a Telephone Operator for Michigan Bell and then at the Miracle Bowl in Ishpeming as desk clerk.

Corrine was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed fundraising in the 1970's for the Blue Notes. She was active with many local bowling leagues, and was famous for her Card Parties with her bowling friends.  Corrine enjoyed antiquing, attending auctions and running estates sales.  She enjoyed her grandchildren's events and activities. Corrine volunteered for several years at the Marquette Co Medical Care Facility helping with the BINGO program.

Survivors include 2 children – Kristin (Russ Gloger) Kellow and Stephen (Diana) Windahl both of Ishpeming, 2 sisters – Mary Ann (Louie) Mitchell of Negaunee and Harriette Dougherty of Ishpeming, sisters-in-law – Ruth (Harry) Johnson and Anna Lou Brewer, 4 grandchildren – Jenith Flex (Anthony Scocca), Andrea (Aaron) Carr, Jordan and Tyler Windahl, step-grandchildren – Lisa Haines and April Kellow, 7 great grandchildren – Kaliyah, Scottie, Aiden, Raena, Ryan Ashley and Kinley, along with several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Ray in 2010.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday June 16, 2017 at 2:00pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ishpeming with the Rev. Kenneth Lahners to officiate.  The family will greet relatives and friends from 1:00pm – 2:00pm on Friday at Trinity Church.  A luncheon will follow the services in the church hall.
