Ishpeming - Constance "Connie" Nacci, age 82, of 108 Canda St. passed away Wednesday, January 28th, 2009 at Marquette General Hospital in the company of loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Connie was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on September 14, 1926, the daughter of the late Dominic and Catherine (Bertucci) Valela. Connie was a life long area resident and a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She worked as a Seamstress at HW Gossard Co. for 25 years before working in the kitchen at Bell Hospital for 10 years. Connie enjoyed baking, especially pasties, and going out for her afternoon coffee. She was an avid walker and enjoyed family get-togethers.

Connie is survived by a sister: Angela (Ron) Wigg of Ishpeming, nieces: Kathy (Bob) Merrill of Ishpeming and Kathy Manzoline of California, nephews: Mike (Kathie) Eliason, Dennis (Wendy) Manzoline & Stephen Manzoline all of Ishpeming, along with several great nieces and nephews. Connie was preceded in death by her husband Jim Nacci in 1973, a sister Mary J. Manzoline and a nephew James Manzoline.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, Ishpeming, MI, at 8:30 AM on Saturday, January 31st, with Rev. Fr. Greg Heikkala officiating. Interment will be at Ishpeming Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mike & Heath Eliason, Dennis, Stephen, Kyle and Nicholas Manzoline.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the St John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 325 S. Pine St. Ishpeming, MI 49849, in Connie's memory.
