Republic- Constance Ann "Connie" Saari, age 60 of 532 Kloman Ave Republic, passed away Friday, May 2, 2008 at the Bell Hospital in Ishpeming

Constance was born May 13, 1947 in Marquette to the late Soini & Mary (Ringuette) Saari. She graduated from Republic-Michigamme High School, class of 1966 and attended and completed the Green Bay School of Cosmetology.

Connie was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Republic where she was active in many church activities including being a Eucharist Minister, the cleaning of the church and a pasty maker. Connie was an avid bowler, bowling in the Monday retirees League and Thursday League. Connie also liked to read and ride her bike.

Connie is survived by her son Jeffrey Saari of Lansing, her companion Darrell Olson of Republic, 3 sisters: Bonnie Jo (Steve) Kauppila of Ishpeming Mary Kay (Allen) Valenzio of Lansing and Lori (Duane) Laxo of Negaunee, a brother Daniel Saari of Republic, nieces and nephews Joel (Tracee) Kauppila, Greg (Shannon) Kauppila, Deanna (Jake London) Kauppila, Brandon Valenzio and Jason Laxo, special friends Gayle Ritola, Mae Lamond and Kim Isaacson, along with aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:00 noon Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Republic with Fr. James Challancin officiating. Burial will take place in the Republic Twp Cemetery.

Friends and family may call St. Augustine Catholic Church on Wednesday from 10:00am until the time of service at 12:00noon.
