Concetta B. (Chetty) Maki
Ishpeming, MI- Concetta B. (Chetty) Maki entered God's loving arms on October 7, 2023, at age 94. Chetty died at home surrounded by family and under the care of hospice.
Chetty will be fondly remembered for all the baking she did—coffee cakes, dinner rolls, and cookies that she shared with everybody. Over the years, she sang in various church and ecumenical choirs, was devoted to taking good care of herself, and she was an avid Detroit Tigers' fan. She enjoyed weekly fellowship with her friends at the Senior Center. Her faith played a significant role in how she led her life and loved her family.
Chetty was beloved wife of the late Eino Maki, proud sister of her brother, Vito (Marion) Frustaglio, loving mother of Kathy (Michael) Manga, Joanne (Roger) Bergman and Mary (Dennis) Yelle, devoted Nana of Chelsee (Josh) Bal, Jenna (Dan) Hendrickson, Ashley (Brad) Cornelius and Caitlin (Matt) Flis, adored great-grandma of Easton and Emma Bal, Ivy Hendrickson, Noah, Stella and Ava Cornelius, and Charlotte and Dominic Flis. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Peter and Rose Frustaglio, and her brothers, Phillip, Peter, Dominic, and Anthony, and sisters, Katherine Sarras, Mary George, Stella Poirier, and Theresa Carlson. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
The family is grateful to all the family members, Fathers Ryan Ford and Christian Flagstadt, her church family, dear friends, and neighbors for all their prayers in support of Chetty. Additionally, the family would like to express their appreciation for the compassionate care shown by Dr. Shawna Gleason and Lake Superior Hospice.
