Ishpeming – Cody J. Heikkila, age 17, lifelong Ishpeming resident passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday July 12, 2017 at his home.

Cody was born on September 25, 1999 in Marquette to Jasondra Aho and Craig Heikkila. Cody was currently a senior at Hartman High with one semester left to graduate. Cody lived his life to the fullest. He loved his friends and family with a love that none of us will ever forget. From the time Cody could talk he was the "social butterfly", bringing kids together who normally wouldn't have been friends. Everyone loved Cody and his infectious laugh and amazing spirit. His girlfriend Olivia was and will always be the love of his life and he's in heaven now loving their baby.

Cody is survived by his mom Jesondra Aho, his dad Craig A. Heikkila (Sarah Tilly), sisters – Cassidy Heikkila and Aylssa Gray, brother Xander Pennala, girlfriend Olivia Frechen, maternal grandmother Sandi (Pete) Engstrom, paternal grandmother Patti (Cliff) Lauer-Smith, paternal grandfather Ronald Heikkila, step-grandma June Aho, paternal great grandfather William Lauer, Aunts and Uncles – Amy (Rick) Conwell, Josh Aho (Nichole Scheinder), Jeremy Aho (Angel Paris), Tim Kangas, Jenni Aho (Tommy McLoughlin), and Mary Aho, several cousins including Dominicque, Bailey, Nolan, Calienna, Addaleighna, Tommy, Damon and Drezdyn, along with numerous great aunts and uncles and best friends Devin, Michael and Cooper and many other close friends.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 12:00noon until 1:00pm on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home. A private graveside interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
