Obituary

National Mine- Cindy M. Kukla, age 55 of 6015 Co. Rd. PB Ishpeming (National Mine), passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011 at her home while under the loving care of her family and Lake Superior Hospice.

Cindy was born July 1, 1956 in Ishpeming and was a life long area resident. She worked as a Certified Nurses Aid at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility for 10 years. Cindy enjoyed her work, being with her co workers and the residents at the nursing home. She also worked as a bartender at Woody's Bar for 23 years. Cindy enjoyed her flower garden and going to the casino.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Chris, whom she married December 1, 1989, 4 children: Christopher (Stevie) Kukla Jr. of Detroit, Lee (Amy Koski) Kukla of Ishpeming, Kristal (fiancé Justin) Kukla of Ishpeming and Samantha Kukla of Ishpeming, 3 brothers: Armando (Shannon) Ruiz of Negaunee, Dennes (Jessica) Vien of Negaunee and Brian (Cindy) Vien of Green Bay, 6 grandchildren: Kaitlin, Joslin, Colin, Esekiel, Landon and Jethro, along with numerous nieces and nephews and best friend Chris Harlock of Ishpeming. Cindy was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Marlene (Emanuelson) Vien, her maternal grandparents Arnold & Margaret Emanuelson, a sister Peggy Niemi and Grandma Donna Tonge.

A memorial service will be held 4:00PM on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Salvation Army in Ishpeming with Lieutenant Stephen Hansen officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Salvation Army on Thursday from 3:00PM until the time of service at 4:00PM.
