Ishpeming/Atlanta- Christine Louise (Nap) Girardin, age 60, former Ishpeming resident, took her last breath August 30, 2024, in the presence of her family at her home in Atlanta, MI after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Chris was born August 24, 1964, at KI Sawyer AFB, MI to Genevieve (Bertucci) Nap and David Nap (Sharon Pemberton). Chris was a graduate of Westwood High School. She just celebrated her big 6-0 in true "Chris G" fashion with a huge party on the hill surrounded by her closest friends and her entire family.

Before moving to Lower Michigan in 2002, Chris worked at the 41 Steak House for many years and was everyone's local Avon lady. Once she moved, she worked at Kohl's, and most recently as a Manager at Freddie's Family Market in Atlanta, MI. She loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, morel hunting and SxS riding. Her family meant everything to her. They had a bond that was unbreakable. She cherished the moments watching her grandkids activities and accomplishments. Chris was vibrant and full of life. She knew her days were numbered and "lived like she was dying." Her personality was infectious to all around her. Chris's strength and resilience were admirable right up to the end. "Chris G" is a legend to all those fortunate enough to have known her and will be deeply missed.

Surviving are her children, daughter Joanna Smail of Ishpeming, MI and son Nicholas Olgren of Atlanta, MI; bonus kids Amber Girardin of Romulus, MI, Ryan (Taylor) Girardin of Lewiston, MI and Jaymi Girardin of Jacksonville, Fl; her sisters Catherine (Roy) King of China, MI, Colleen (Rudy) Goupille of Negaunee, MI and brother Brian Nap of Ishpeming, MI. Grandchildren Allyson Smail and Ella Olgren both of Ishpeming; Anthony, Alivia, Addison, Austin and Avery Gambino of Romulus, MI and Brantley and Ryett Girardin of Lewiston, MI. Green Funeral Home, Atlanta MI assisted the family locally.

Memorial services will be provided by Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home Friday, September 20, 2024. Chris's family will greet relatives and friends from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm with services at 4:00 pm with Rev. Steve Jensen officiating.
