Obituary

Ishpeming – Cheryl A. Maki, age 73, of 418 S. Third St., Ishpeming, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital in West Allis, WI where she had been a patient for the past 8 days.

Cheryl was born February 22, 1945 in Ishpeming the daughter of the late William Tall and Bertha (Gronvall) Kokkila. Cheryl was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1963. She had worked as a waitress at various local restaurants including Elliott's, Buck's and Rollie's. She loved to spend time with her family along with trips to the Casino.

Survivors include her husband Raymond Maki of Ishpeming, daughter Barbara Maki of Ishpeming, grandchildren – Kayla Billing and her fiancé Zack Goode, and William Billing, great grandson Jackson Dupras, sister-in-law and brothers-in-law – Leona and Irv Krellwitz of Ishpeming and Dale Talus of Negaunee, along with many nieces and nephews. Cheryl was preceded in death by a son Michael Maki in 2010, sister Yvonne, brother Douglas Tall, sister-in-law Barbara Talus and recently a nephew Raymond Krellwitz.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Ishpeming Cemetery with the Rev. Rob Kemp to officiate. A luncheon will follow at the Old Fashioned Baptist Church, 321 S. Fourth St., Ishpeming.
