Republic – Charlotte J. Holsworth, age 78 of 6844 Hardwood Rd., Republic Twp., passed away on Friday December 28, 2007 at her home while under the care of her family and the Upper Peninsula Home Health and Hospice.
Charlotte was born October 12, 1929 in Pontiac, MI the daughter of the late Theodore and Charlotte (Poli) Morris. She married Charles A. Holsworth in 1947, and moved to Republic in 1973, from Ossineke, MI. She was a proud mother and homemaker to her seven children. Charlotte was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. Charlotte did volunteer work at the St. Vincent DePaul Store in Republic for many years. A source of great pride and accomplishment to Charlotte was when she graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Licensed Practical Nurses Certificate with honors at age 60. She went on to work as a LPN at the Bell Hospital and the Marquette County Medical Care Facility.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years Charles A. Holsworth of Republic; 2 daughters – Renee` (Ron) Grochowski of Ishpeming and Dawn (Mick) Rondeau of Eben Junction; 5 sons – Karl (Debbie) Holsworth of Channing, Dan (Diane) Holsworth of Humboldt Loc., Tim Holsworth of Green Bay, WI and his fiancée Nellie Ruela of Linden, NJ, David (Wanda) Holsworth of Republic and Larry (Kathy) Holsworth of Sagola; a brother – Mike (Diana) Morris of Spruce, MI; a sister Colleen Bauer of Pontiac, MI; 29 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 brothers – Jerome "Zeke" and James "Jibber" Morris.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Republic from 12:00noon until 1:00pm on Sunday December 30, 2007 where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1:00pm with the Rev. Msgr. Peter Oberto to officiate.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Charlotte's sons and her brother.
