Ishpeming - Charles Pierson Bredeson, age 77, formerly of 1320 Timber St. in Ely Twp., passed away early Monday morning, November 3rd, 2008 at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans, in Marquette where he had resided since May 12th.
Charles was born in Ladysmith, WI on May 6, 1931, the son of the late Frank and Grace (Brown) Bredeson. He moved from Ladysmith to Milwaukee when he was ten and from there to Racine, WI before coming to Ishpeming in 1978. He graduated high School in Milwaukee and faithfully served in the U.S. Marines as a Cpl in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1955. Charles married Lucille (Alderton) Bredeson on August 3, 1957. He retired in 1993 from Robbins Flooring Mill in Ishpeming as a maintenance man following 15 years of employment. Charles enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Charles is survived by his wife Lucille of Ely Twp., two daughters: Terri Bredeson of Louisville, KY, Lynn (Brian) Patterson of LaPorte, TX, two sons: Steven (Sabine) Bredeson of Tuscon, AZ, and Michael Bredeson of Humble, TX. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Charles and Natasha Bredeson, Mackenzie and Dakota Patterson, two brothers: Robert Bredeson of Highland, IN, Gale Bredeson of Milwaukee, WI. along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and a brother.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Thursday November 6, 2008 from 1:00pm until the time of memorial services at 2:00PM at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home, with Rev. Virginia Eggert officiating. A luncheon will follow the services at the Faith Lutheran Church Hall, Co. Rd. 581, Ishpeming.
