Ishpeming – Charles "Charlie" Angelo Baldini, age 81, of 13462 Co Rd CL, in Ishpeming passed away on at 4:20PM on Friday August 8, 2008 at Bell Hospital in Ishpeming surrounded by his loved ones.

Charlie was born on August 14, 1926 the son of the late Dominic and Madealena (Morelli) Baldini in North Lake Location. He was a life long Ishpeming area resident working at the St. John's school for many years as a custodian. Charlie married Irene Hendrickson on November 6, 1954. He loved his family more than anything and enjoyed being with his grandchildren. Charlie was always there for people when they needed him, whether they asked for it or not.

Charlie loved picking blueberries and going for rides with the late George Helgren. Nothing made his eyes light up more than seeing his woodpile grow and he loved taking his Saturday afternoon saunas. Charlie loved his horses in his early years and will be greatly missed by his family and dog "Barney".

Charles is survived by his wife of 53 years, Irene Baldini of Ishpeming, sons: Timothy (Marion) Baldini, of Ishpeming, Jeffrey (Vickie) Baldini of Ishpeming, Gregory (Jackie) Baldini of Ishpeming, Gerald (Peggy) Baldini of Ishpeming, daughters: Kay (John) Wirtanen of Ishpeming, Jean Drier of Wakefield, MI; Judy (William) Hill of Ishpeming, 11 grandchildren: Jesse (Diana) Baldini, Billy Baldini, Dawn (Cory) Kulju, Aaron Baldini, Brad (Wendy) Richards, Justin (Suzie) Richards, Charlie Drier, Morgan Drier, Jamie (fiance Matt Besola) Baldini, Jered (fiancee Jen Roan) Baldini, and Hannah Hill, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and special friends Bill and Pauline Grawey of Ishpeming. Charlie was preceded in death by his brothers John, Geno, James, and Emelio, a sister Mary, an infant great grandson Max Baldini, and a son-in-law Ken Drier.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ishpeming at 5:00PM with Rev. Fr. James Challancin officiating. Charlie's family will greet friends and relatives from 3:00PM until the time of services at the church. A luncheon will follow the Mass in the church hall.
