Ishpeming- Charlene J. Nelson of Ishpeming passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011 at her home. She was 81.

Charlene was born May 26, 1929, a daughter of Charles and Minnie Wallenstein. She married Clyde Nelson May 27, 1950 at which time she moved to the Chicago, IL area. Charlene was employed as an Executive Secretary, at Simpson Electric for 40 years.

Charlene moved back to Ishpeming in 2000, after her husband's passing. Also preceding Charlene in death were her parents and her sister Betty (Waino) Jarvis.

Charlene is survived by one niece, Ann Jarvis of Gallup, New Mexico; one nephew, Charles (Becky) Jarvis of Racine, Wisconsin and very special neighbors and friends.

Charlene was fun loving and a joy to be around. Her hobbies included reading, doing the daily crossword puzzle in the newspaper, and having "Club" with a small group of her long time friends from high school.

No services have been planned at this time. Burial will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery in the spring.
