Michigamme- Catherine "Cathy" J. Starkey, age 64 of 209 Mesnard St, Michigamme passed away Friday, July 21, 2017 at UP Health System Marquette.

Catherine was born July 31, 1952 in Ishpeming to Donald Skytta and Barbara (Heikkanen). She graduated from Champion High School, class of 1970 and attended NMU for 1 year. Cathy enjoyed knitting, crocheting, arts and crafts and listening to all types of music.

Cathy will be missed by her husband Peter, whom she married on March 2, 1973, her father Donald Skytta of Negaunee, her mother Barb (Ralph) Fishell of Braddyville, IA, 2 children: Sheri Riley of Munfordville, KY, and Jerome (Renee) Starkey of Appleton, WI, a brother Dennis (Carla) Skytta of Michigamme, 3 grandchildren: Madisyn and twins Jaxson and Tyson Starkey, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Cathy was preceded in death by a brother Albert Skytta.

Honoring Cathy's wishes, cremation will take place and a private family service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Champion with Paul Peterson officiating.
