Ishpeming – Catherine "Cart" M. Lietz, age 81, of Milwaukee, WI, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Mather Nursing Center under the care of Upper Peninsula Home Health & Hospice.
The daughter of Russell and Lottie (Bess) Argall, Catherine was born November 4, 1927 in Ishpeming, Michigan. She was a graduate of Ishpeming High School class of 1946. Catherine worked at the Gossard for 5 years before moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On December 25, 1953 she married N. John Lietz.
Catherine was employed at Briggs & Stratton in Milwaukee for 30+ years. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church of Ishpeming. She and John spent much time at their camp on the Hoist Basin and at their summer home in South Republic. She thoroughly enjoyed her time spent driving the woods of Marquette County hunting for ruffed grouse and white tail deer. Catherine was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. She loved to embroider in her earlier years.
Besides her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, John, on February 1, 2003, a brother Russell (Brud) Argall and two sisters, Jean Steede and Nancy St. Aubin. She is survived by a brother Joe Argall of Ishpeming, a sister Suzanne (Paul) Heilala of Ishpeming, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday April 13, 2009 at 12:30PM at Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with Catherine's nephew, Pastor Hank Steede officiating. The family will greet friends and relatives from 11:00AM until the time of services. Burial will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her nephews: Joseph Argall, Jr., David Argall, Theodore Heilala, Tom St. Aubin, Daryl St. Aubin, and Kenneth St. Aubin. The family would like to thank the staff of Mather Nursing Center, Upper Peninsula Home Health & Hospice, and Woodland Assisted Living Facility for the love & care given to Catherine.
