Ishpeming - Catherine Maria "Kay" Andriacchi, age 71 of 200 Saginaw St. Ishpeming, passed away, Monday, February 14, 2011 at the Bell Hospital in Ishpeming. She had resided at the Marquette Co. Medical Care Facility for the past several years.


Kay was born Feb. 27, 1939 in Ishpeming the daughter of the late Anthony S. "Tacky" and Mary (Conte) Andriacchi. She was a graduate of the St. Paul's High School in 1957. She worked as a sales clerk at Jackson's Hardware Store in downtown Ishpeming for 21 years. Kay was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Paisano Club. Catherine enjoyed knitting and reading.


Survivors include two sisters – Frances (Ted) Ricci of Hancock and Antonia (Larry) Kramer of Ann Arbor, a brother Stephen Andriacchi of Murrieta, CA, 4 nieces, 6 nephews, 8 great nieces and 4 great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Riberdy and a brother Joe Andriacchi.


The family will greet relatives and friends from 10 – 11am on Friday February 18, 2011 at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday at St. John's Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Greg Heikkala to officiate. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.


Honorary pallbearers will be Catherine's nephews – Anthony and Stephen J. Andriacchi, Joseph Kramer, Jason, Matthew and Andrew Ricci.
