Ishpeming – Catherine "Katie" Armstrong, age 91, of 200 Saginaw St. Ishpeming passed away on Tuesday December 21, 2010 at the Marquette Co. Medical Care Facility where she had resided since July of 2007.


Catherine was born October 13, 1919 in Michigamme, the daughter of the late Paulina (Stella) and Olinto Bucco. She attended Ishpeming High School and worked for several years as a seamstress at the H.W. Gossard Co. in Ishpeming. Katie loved all animals and enjoyed to knit and crochet.


Survivors include a son R. David (Bari) Armstrong of Ishpeming, 4 grandchildren – Gina (Robert) Tilly of Negaunee, Julie (Brad) Austin, Jodi (Jeremy) Joki both of Ishpeming, and Jill (Tony) Giotto of Negaunee, 2 step-grandchildren - Jame Budd of Lansing and Brendon (Lisa) Budd of Mason, 4 great grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Armstrong in 1962.


A private graveside inurnment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
