Ishpeming- Carolyne V. Gulas, age 90 longtime Ishpeming resident passed away Thursday April 28, 2016 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility where she had been a resident since 2012.

Carolyne was born January 11, 1926 in Joliet, IL to Nicola & Anne (Riola) Dallas. She graduated from Joliet High School and moved to Michigan June 1947. Carolyne graduated from the School of Banking at Northern Michigan University.

Carolyn worked at Ben Franklin in Negaunee for 5 years. After that she worked at the Negaunee Bank for 13 years. She also worked at Miners Bank (MFC) for 25 years finally retiring as Branch Manager at the Miracle Center in 1991. Carolyne volunteered at the Salvation Army for 25 years and served on their advisory board.

Carolyn is survived by Ralph Harper, a long time friend and who kept her company for many years, a sister Patricia (Donald) LaCosse of Marquette, several nieces and nephews and her canine companion "Ringo". She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters: Catherine Bennett and Mary Louise Pirkola.

A private service will be held at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Memorial considerations may be directed to the Ishpeming Salvation Army in memory of Carolyne.
