Ishpeming, MI – Carol L. Marra, age 80, longtime resident of 823 S. Pine St., Ishpeming passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the home of her daughter Denise Gauthier in Gladstone while under the loving care of her family and UP Health System – Marquette Home Care and Hospice.

Carol was born June 19, 1934 in Marquette, MI the daughter of the late Alphonse and S. Helen (Mackey) Michell. She was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1952. Carol held secretarial jobs prior to raising her family in Ishpeming with her husband Joseph Marra whom she married on January 7, 1956. Carol was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and of the Ishpeming VFW ladies auxiliary of which she had served as vice-president.

Survivors include 2 daughters – Denise (Steve) Gauthier of Gladstone and Kris Marra of Ishpeming, 2 sons – Pat Marra of Ishpeming and Sam Marra of Norridge, IL, step-daughter - Betty Jo Marra of Schenectady, NY, grandchildren – Angela Roy, Joseph (McKayle) Roy, Jake Roy, Tonya (Jim) Allen, Traci Marra, Michelle Marra and Madacyn Helstein, great grandchildren – Michael, Harper, Zachary and Mick, special friends Charles "Snook" Smith and Claire Waananen. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, a son Michael and daughter-in-law Theresa.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 4 until 6pm on Friday April 17, 2015 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home where a memorial service will follow at 6:00pm on Friday with the Rev. Fr. Larry Van Damme to officiate. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery. A meal will be served following the services in the K.D. Hall at St. John's Catholic Church.
