Obituary
Humboldt Twp- Carol Mackey age 56 Humboldt Twp resident went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday July 15, 2016 at the St. Mary's Campus- Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, following a brief illness.
Carol was born March 4, 1960 in Hancock, MI to the late Paul & Elvia (Wanhatalo) Dreis. Carol graduated from Westwood High School class of 1978. She worked 13 years as deputy treasurer for Humboldt Township and was currently the Humboldt Township Treasurer. She also enjoyed hosting the senior luncheon at the Humboldt Township Hall.
Carol was a faithful member of the Hope Free Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ishpeming where she served as president of the W.M.F. and was also the president of the District (U.P.) W.M.F. Carol was known for her wonderful bakery and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her husband Kyle Mackey, 4 children: Cara (Bill) Goodall of Eagan, MN, Jared (Kari) Mackey of Maple Groove, MN, David (Lindsay) Mackey of Bloomington, MN and Kristi (Anthony) Carello of Niagara, WI sisters: Julie (Paul) Racine of Ishpeming, Sue Joki of Ishpeming, Kathy (Al) Howard of Ishpeming, a brother Peter (Amy) Dreis of Green Bay, WI, 6 grandchildren: Hannah, Lillian, and Sophia Goodall, Lyla, Evra and Myron Mackey along with a expecting grandson. Also surviving are her in laws Marvin and Barbara Mackey of Humboldt Twp, and numerous nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents Paul & Elvia Dreis.
Carol's family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Hope Free Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ishpeming Twp where funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm with Pastor Phillip Haugen officiating.
A private interment will take place at the Humboldt Township Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carol's nephews.
A luncheon will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service.
