ISHPEMING – Carol A. Liquia, age 72, of 280 Silver St. Ishpeming passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at the Marquette Co. Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming where she had resided since May of this year.

Carol was born December 12, 1941 in Palmer, MI the daughter of the late Phillip and Louise (LaMere) Liquia. She was raised in Palmer and later moved to Ishpeming where she had raised her family while living in West Ishpeming. Carol worked at the Bell Memorial Hospital for several years in the Dietary Dept. and later at Grandma T's Pasty shop in Negaunee. She loved spending time at camp on Helen Lake enjoying berry picking, gardening and the local fishing derby. Carol will be remembered by family and friends as a excellent baker, especially her pasties. She also enjoyed to throw horseshoes in the summer months.

Survivors include 3 sons – Rick Lahnanen of Helen Lake, Donald Lahnanen of Ishpeming and Robert (Andrea) Lahnanen of Millington, MI; a sister Betty (David) Vadnais of Ishpeming; 2 brothers – Roland (Donna) Liquia and Dennis Liquia both of Soumi Loc.; 4 grandchildren – Jacquelyn, Kathryn, Amber & Dylan Lahnanen; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son James Lahnanen in 1999, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with the Rev. Lauri O. Maki to officiate. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10 until 11am at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Negaunee Cemetery.
