Ishpeming – Carol M. Knudsen, age 81 of 707 Park St. Ishpeming passed away at 6:00am on Sunday November 9, 2008 at the Bell Hospital in Ishpeming.


Carol was born May 27, 1927 in Ishpeming the daughter of the late Edwin and Flora (Hicks) Lind. She was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1946. Carol worked at the Kirkish Shoe Store in Ishpeming as a sales clerk and then as a Switchboard Operator at the Main Offices of Cleveland Cliffs in Ishpeming for several years, retiring in the early 1982. Carol was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She and her husband of 60 years John H. Knudsen enjoyed spending summertime at their camp on the Dead River Basin, along with visiting with friends and neighbors. They wintered in Orange Beach, Alabama during their retirement years. Carol liked to pass time by quilting and knitting.

Survivors include her husband John H. Knudsen of Ishpeming, a daughter Lynn (Jerald) Seppi of Ft. Myers, FL, a son John L. (Elaine) Knudsen of Chesterfield, MO, a sister Delores Williams of Ishpeming, 3 grandchildren – Sara (Clint) Rickelmann of Naples, FL, Christopher (Janine) Seppi of Windermere, FL and Abbie Knudsen of St. Charles, MO, a great granddaughter Hazel Seppi of Windermere, Fl along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

The family will greet friends and relatives on Thursday November 13, 2008 from 10:00AM until the time of the memorial services at 11:00AM at Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with the Rev. Phyllis DeWitt officiating. Inurnment will take place at the Columbarium at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
