Marquette – Carl A. Bockoven, age 72, most recently of 425 Fisher St. Marquette passed away at 1:00pm on Friday, February 28, 2014 at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette where he had resided for the past 13 months.
Carl was born the son of Jerome and Eileen (Wood) Bockoven on Nov. 2, 1941 in Fort Dodge, IA where he grew up. He entered the United States Air Force and served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, Carl went on to work many jobs including being a Police Officer, Truck Driver, and a Restaurant Manger which he truly enjoyed. Carl enjoyed fishing, reading western novels, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons Kevin Bockoven of Silver City, NM and Matt Bockoven of L'Anse, two daughters – Tammy and Kimberly, 2 grandsons – Matt and Kevin, 3 granddaughters – Carrie (Joseph) Paquette, Jennifer (Ryan) Tammelin and Terri Curtis all of L'Anse, 6 great grandchildren – Kayla, Aiden, Joseph Jr., and Julianna Paquette and Ryan Jr. and Zander Tammelin.
Per Carl's wishes, cremation has taken place and his inurnment will take place in Fort Dodge, IA.
