Bryan K. Ogea

Bonita Springs, FL/ Champion- Mr. Bryan K. Ogea, 70, of 1292 Co. Rd. AF Champion, passed away Friday, January 22nd, 2010 at his home in Bonita Springs under the loving care of family and Hope Hospice.

Bryan was born in Ely Twp (Diorite) on August 25, 1939, the son of the late Raymond and Toini (Paavola) Ogea. He graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1957 and earned his bachelors degree from Northern Michigan University where he also attained post graduate education in elementary education.

Bryan taught school for 30 years at Ely School, Champion School, and later for the NICE School District at Champion, teaching 5th & 6th grade, retiring in 1991.

He was a member of Eastwood Apostolic Lutheran Church in Negaunee, the Champion Lions Club, the Wawonowin Country Club and M.E.A.R. Bryan enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, hunting and fishing and at camp on Huron Bay on Lake Superior.

Bryan is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lois (Lindholm) Ogea, two sons Troy (Linda) Ogea of Kennesaw, GA; Braun (Carol) Ogea of Manchester, IA; a daughter, Tania Ogea of Kennesaw, GA; 4 grandchildren: Bryce, Morgan, Grant and Phillip, a sister, Karen (David) Edelschick of Manassas, VA; two brothers, Raymond (Sharon) Ogea of Sheboygan Falls, WI, Paul (Linda) Ogea of Negaunee, along with several nieces and nephews. Bryan was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Judith Pascoe.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, January 29, 2010 at Eastwood Apostolic Lutheran Church, Negaunee, with Pastor Dale Niskanen officiating. Interment will take place in the Champion Cemetery.

Friends and relatives may call at the Eastwood Apostolic Lutheran Church on Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 3:00PM.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Kevern, Steven Kevern, Robin Ogea, Michael Ogea, Todd Ogea, & Dale Rogers.

Memorial considerations may be directed to the Champion/Humboldt Township First Responders, P.O.Box 126 Champion, MI 49814 in Memory of Bryan Ogea.
