Three Lakes- Bryan R. Nurmela, age 33, lifelong area resident, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday March 10, 2024.

Bryan was born in Ishpeming on September 22, 1990, son of the late Arnold Nurmela and Laura (Maki) Nurmela. He attended NICE Community Schools and graduated from Westwood High School with the class of 2010. Byan worked at the Michigamme Market for several years before going on to work at National Carbon Technologies, in the lab at the Eagle Mine, and most recently at the Michigamme Market again.

Bryan enjoyed fishing, four wheeling, water skiing, boating, biking, downhill skiing, being in the outdoors, and spending time with his friends and family.

Bryan is survived by his mother- Laura (Maki) Nurmela, sister- Amy (fiancé Brandon Nelson) Nurmela, nieces and nephews- Carson, Riley, Ethan, Gavin, and Andrew, along with several aunts, uncles and cousins, and his special friend- Steph Carello. He was preceded in death by his father- Arnold Nurmela.

Bryan's family will greet relatives and friends at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church on Saturday March 16, 2024 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm where food and refreshments will be served throughout. A service will follow at 3:00pm with Pastor Paul Peterson officiating.
