Ishpeming – Brian G. Tomlinson, age 65 of 325 Lawrence Ave. Ishpeming Twp. passed away on Friday May 5, 2017 at his home while under the loving care of his wife Leslie and the Upper Peninsula Home Health and Hospice.

Brian was born May 1, 1952 in Munich, Germany the son of the late Robert and Rosemary (Denn) Tomlinson.  His family moved to Ishpeming in his youth and attended the St. John's Catholic School and then the Ishpeming High School, graduating with the Class of 1971.  He attended Northern Michigan University for a year and then served in the United States Army from August of 1972 till August of 1975, having been stationed in Germany.  Brian then moved to Las Vegas where he had worked as a Jail Officer for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept. for many years, retiring in 2004.  Brian returned to Ishpeming in 2008.  Among the things that Brian cherished were his canine companion Kayla, his 1967 Chevy and his Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

Survivors include his wife of the past 7 years Leslie Tomlinson of Ishpeming, daughter Sarah (Tarik) Alshaikh of Las Vegas, NV, brother Chris Tomlinson of Las Vegas, NV.  He was preceded in death by brothers Dana and Mark Tomlinson.

Brian's family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00am – 1:00pm on Friday May 12, 2017 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home where Military Honors will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter #380 at 1:00pm on Friday.
