Obituary
Negaunee - Brent W. Monett, age 54, of 216 Marquette St. passed away Wednesday, July 29th, 2009 at Bell Hospital in Ishpeming.
Brent was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on February 21, 1955, the son of the late Wallace and Della (Lahtela) Monett. He graduated from Republic High School in 1973 and retired from Cleveland Cliffs Mining Operations. Brent was a life long area resident. He loved playing the guitar with friends in the Music Club, fishing, hunting and the outdoors.
Brent is survived by two brothers: Mark (Barb) Monett of Grand Junction, CO, Clint (Kathy) Monett of Spring Creek, NV, step-sisters Deanna (Steve) Sullivan, Cindy Antilla, Sandy (Jim) Parsons, and step-brother Jack Mattila along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Shirley Monett.
Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Bethany Lutheran Church in South Republic at 11:00AM with Rev. Katherine Finegan officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30AM until the time of services at the church. Inurnment will take place at the Republic Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward the Bethany Lutheran Church Stained Glass Window Fund at 110 Poplar St, Republic, MI 49879.
