National Mine – Brad M. Kovall, age 46, of 375 Co. Rd. PAJ, National Mine, passed away at 12:25am on Monday, August 20, 2012 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He had been under the loving care of his family and the Lake Superior Hospice.


Brad was born November 24, 1965 in Harrisburg, PA the son of George T. and the late Arlene R. (Spevacek) Kovall. Brad was raised in Bressler, PA prior to entering the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge from the Army he went back to PA briefly prior to moving to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where he had resided for the past 23 years. Brad had a love for the arts, enjoying music, drawing and writing. He enjoyed to travel, but when at home he loved to be around his cats.


Survivors include his wife Lisa (Lampi) Kovall whom he married on April 5, 2012, his father George Kovall of Hummelstown, PA, a brother Scott Kovall of Hummelstown, PA, nieces and nephews – Sheehan and Madison Kovall, Alyssa, Addison, Alaric and Aidan Martin along with a special friend Daryl Bietila. He was preceded in death by his mother Arlene Kovall in 2003.


A private memorial gathering will be held by the family at a later date.
