Ishpeming- Beverly Ann Wakkuri, age 67 of 235 Marquette St. Ishpeming, passed away Thursday, July 08, 2010 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility where she been a resident for the past month.

Beverly was born September 5, 1942 in Ishpeming to Eino & Amelia (Risku) Erkkila. She graduated from Ishpeming High School. Beverly worked as a bookkeeper for many years working at Narotzky Motors in Ishpeming and later at Shopko in Marquette.

Beverly was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church where she was active with the Bible Study group and the Quilters. Beverly was very artistic; she enjoyed painting, and was known for making her own Christmas card to send to family and friends. She also enjoyed reading; baking, working on crossword puzzles; card playing and time spend at camp with family.

Beverly is survived by her husband John Wakkuri, whom she married on November 3, 1963, a sister Barbara (Dennis) Johnson of Menominee, MI a sister in law Lorraine Wheeler of Ishpeming, 3 nephews: Kevin (Renee) Johnson, Jay (Alison) Johnson and Jeff Johnson, a niece Nancy (Bob) Martin, along with several great nieces, great nephews and many close first cousins. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Rosalie Erkkila and a brother Robert Wheeler.

Funeral services will be held 7:00PM Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating. Friends may call at Bethel Lutheran Church on Saturday from 6:00PM until the time of service at 7:00PM.

Memorial considerations may be directed to Bethel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund in memory of Beverly.
