Ishpeming, MI- Beverly K. Nelson, age 63 of 1705 Rosewood Ln., Ishpeming Twp. went home to be with the Lord on Thursday July 24, 2014 at her home while in the loving care of her family and U.P. Home Health & Hospice.

Beverly was born June 21, 1951 in Ishpeming to the late Swante & Irene (Isotalo) Korby. Bev graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1969. She worked in the Purchasing Department for C.C.I. and later worked 25 years as Tresurer for Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming.

Bev was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church where she belonged to the Bell Choir, Rachel's Circle (WELCA) and served on the finance committee. She enjoyed following her boys in their activities and spending time, playing games with her grandchildren. Bev loved to cross stitch & knit, making sweaters and afghans. She was an avid reader, enjoyed spending time at camp, traveling and attending Packer games.

Bev is survived by her husband Michael S. Nelson, whom she married on August 7, 1971, two sons: Bradley Nelson of Ishpeming and Tim (Stacie) Nelson of Ontonagon, five grandchildren: Abigail, Lillian, Wyatt, Jack and Kyle, two sisters: Connie (Rod) Doran of Sudbury, Ontario, Canada & Kathy (Dave) Magnuson of Ishpeming, her in laws Ken & Loraine Nelson of Ishpeming along with numerous nieces and nephews. Bev was preceded in death by her parents Swante & Irene Korby.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday July 26, 2014 at the Bethel Lutheran Church with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating. Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Bev's family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday July 26th at the Bethel Lutheran Church from 10:00am until the time of service at 12:00 noon.

Pallbearers will be Julie O'Hara, Kara Hanlon, Ron Hanlon, Jaimie Mager, Nathan Mager and Jennifer Nelson

Memorial considerations may be directed to the Bethel Lutheran Church in memory of Beverly Nelson.
