Marquette- Betty Jean Watters, age 78, former Snowberry Heights resident, joined her husband Ronald in eternal life on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Brookridge Heights Assisted Living while under the loving care of her family and UP Home Health and Hospice.
Betty was born April 27, 1934 in Marquette to Henry & Eleanor (Bloomquist) Anderson. She worked in housekeeping at the Holiday Inn in Marquette for 30 years. Betty was a "social butterfly" at Snowberry and was known to the residents as the "Queen of Snowberry Heights." Betty enjoyed watching deer from her backyard and later taking rides around Presque Isle watching for deer. Betty was a loving mother and grandmother.
Betty is survived by 4 children: Robert Cobb, Kathy (Tom) Grady, Patty (Brian) Schmeltzer and Janet (Tom Dagenais) Cobb, a sister Diane (John) Higgins all of Marquette, sister in law Sue Anderson of Lebanon, MO, grandchildren: Randi Schmeltzer, Ryan Schmeltzer, Stephanie (Cory) Godfrey, and Sheila Grady, 2 great grandchildren Ava & Ella and their mother Amanda, along with nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Watters, son Stephen Cobb, a sister Eleanor (Hank) Shorkey, 2 brothers: Henry "Bud" (Margaret "Muggs") Anderson and Leonard Anderson.
At Betty's request there will be no services. Inurnment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.
Betty's family would like to thank her physician Dr. Cary Bjork and nurse Lois along with the staff of Brookridge Heights and UP Home Health & Hospice for the wonderful care given to Betty.
