Ishpeming- Betty J. Siltanen, age 88, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016 at The Lighthouse at Ishpeming (formerly Mather Nursing Center) where she has resided for the past 5 years.

Betty was born December 19, 1928 in Negaunee to Albert & Hilma (Hardy) Hill.  She graduated from Negaunee High School.  Betty worked as a waitress at her mother's restaurant "Ma Hill's" in Negaunee.  She also worked at the H.W. Gossard Company, Miners Bank, and as a secretary for Cleveland Cliffs at the main office for 19 years.  Betty was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming.

Betty is survived by nieces and nephews: Edward Bjork, Linda Anglin, Carrie Villalobos, Carl Bjork, Robert Hill, Ruby Kaukola, Rachael Ford, Albert "Butch" Hill, Danny Hill and Bruce Hill, along with several great nieces and great nephews.  Betty was preceded in death by her parents Albert & Hilma Hill, husband Roy, brothers: Edward, Wilfred, Leonard and Harold Hill and a sister Mildred Bjork.

Betty's family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00am until 12:00 noon on Friday, December 30, 2016 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating.

Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Bethel Lutheran Church, 333 E. Ridge St. Ishpeming, MI 49849 in memory of Betty.

Betty's family would like to thank the staff at The Lighthouse at Ishpeming (Mather Nursing Center) for the wonderful care given to Betty for the past 5 years.
