Ishpeming- Betty L. Dunstan, age 87, longtime Ishpeming resident, passed away Friday, March 2, 2012 at the Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee where she been a resident since August 2011.

Betty was born in Negaunee, on December 13, 1924, a daughter of the late Lillian M. (Yelland) and Elvin O. Seem. She graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1943. She worked as a seamstress at the H.W. Gossard.

Betty was a former member and Sunday school teacher at Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bowling, ceramics, crocheting, knitting and puzzles.

Betty is survived by a daughter, Julie Simone, of Gwinn, 4 grandchildren: Michelle (Richard) Rudd, Patricia Di Maria, Jeffrey Di Maria, Jason Di Maria, 4 great grandchildren Samantha Eberle, Michael Warras, Brandon Taylor, Madison Warras, & 3 great great grandchildren: Hayden, Harlow and Hollister Eberle. Betty was preceded in death by her first husband Salvatore Ombrello in 1963, second husband Charles Dunstan in 2011 and a grandson James Di Maria.

Private services for Betty will be held at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with interment to take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
